AV Ramana Dikshitulu is the 37th descendant of Vaikhanasa Archaka Gopinath and serves as the head priest at the Lord Venkateshwara temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. He has a doctorate in molecular biology and is a unique expert on the Agamas, which are important Vedic scriptures.

AV Ramana Dikshitulu was born in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, India in 50s. Ramana, along with the current chief priests Venugopala Dikshitulu and Krishna Seshachala Dikshitulu, called for strong action against the honorary chief priest due to remarks he allegedly made in a video on social media.
Deekshitulu, from the Archakam Peddinti family, one of the four hereditary priest families connected to the Tirumala temple for centuries, served as the chief priest for more than twenty years.
He was forced to retire along with three other priests in 2018 by the previous Telugu Desam Party government. After the YSR Congress party took power, he continued to participate in the temple rituals, even though his position was not reinstated.
What Happened To Ramana Deekshitulu?
Former Chief Priest of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Ramana Deekshitulu, claimed that the quality of the Tirupati laddu declined while the YSRCP was in power in Andhra Pradesh. He mentioned that he had brought up this issue at that time.
Deekshitulu stated that he pointed out the poor quality of the laddu when the YSRCP government was in power in Andhra Pradesh, but no one took notice of his concerns.
While speaking to reporters at Tirumala, Ramana Deekshitulu said, “I made several complaints about the quality of the prasadam (laddu) during the previous government’s time. I brought it to the attention of the Executive Officer and Chairman of TTD back then.”
But no one listened to my complaints. Other priests also didn’t support me for their own reasons. The adulteration of the prasadam went on for five years,” he claimed.
The ruling TDP-led government has stated that a report from the Gujarat-based livestock laboratory, NDDB CALF Ltd, found that animal fat was used in making the highly regarded laddu when the YSRCP was in power.
