Life Journey Of Physicist Rohini Godbole
In 1979, Rohini Godbole joined the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai as a visiting fellow. She then taught at the University of Bombay’s Physics Department from 1982 to 1995.
In 1995, she joined the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore as an Associate Professor at the Centre for High Energy Physics and became a full Professor in 1998.
She retired on July 31, 2021, and was named an honorary professor. Rohini wrote over 150 research papers, and many of them are widely cited in her field, showing their importance.
She was also a member of the International Detector Advisory Group (IDAG), which worked on the International Linear Collider project at CERN, Europe’s famous research lab for particle physics.
Godbole chaired the Indian Academy of Sciences’ Panel for Women in Science, an initiative to support women in the field.
