Career Journey Of Sanjeev Sanyal
Sanjeev Sanyal started his career in financial economics during the 1990s. In 2004, he co-founded the Green Indian States Trust with environmental economist Pavan Sukhdev to support sustainable development. He worked as the chief economist for South and Southeast Asia at Deutsche Bank until 2008.
After that, he took time off to write his book, Land of the Seven Rivers and returned to Deutsche Bank in 2011. By 2015, he had become a managing director and global strategist before resigning.
In 2017, Sanjeev Sanyal became the Principal Economic Adviser to the Indian Ministry of Finance, where he assisted in preparing six editions of the Economic Survey of India.
In February 2022, he was appointed as a member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, holding the same rank as a government secretary.
In March 2023, Sanjeev Sanyal was the patron of the first Delhi University Literature Festival, working with Swapan Dasgupta, who served as the festival director.
