Cricket Career Of Scott Boland
Scott started playing cricket with Parkdale Cricket Club when he was just six years old in the under-12 competition. He worked his way up through the club and, at 16, moved to play for Frankston Peninsula in Victorian Premier Cricket. Boland had a great season in second-grade cricket in 2008/09, taking 37 wickets with an average of 18.60.
Despite starting the 2011/2012 season strongly with Frankston-Peninsula, he didn’t get his first opportunity to play for Victoria until their fourth Sheffield Shield match of the season, against Western Australia, on November 11, 2011.
Boland played his first Twenty20 International match for Australia on January 29, 2016, against India. His strong performances in the Ryobi Cup earned him a spot in Australia’s ODI squad for their series against India during their tour of Australia.
Boland made his ODI debut against India in the first match of the series at the WACA ground. Later, during Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka in July and August 2016, he played in two of the five ODI matches and one T20 International.
In 2018, Scott Boland was part of the Aboriginal XI team that toured England to mark 150 years since the first Aboriginal team visited England in 1868. He made his Test debut for Australia on December 26, 2021, against England.
