Sean Anthony Abbott is an Australian cricketer from Windsor, New South Wales. He has played international white-ball cricket for Australia and is also part of the Australian squad for the 2024 series against Scotland.

Sean Anthony Abbott was born on 29 February 1992 in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia. He is 32 years old as of 2024. He was born to Australian parents his father’s name is Mr. Nathan Abbott and his mother’s name is Mrs. Georgina Abbott.
He has a younger brother named Breeza. He is married now and his wife’s name is Brier Abbott. He has two children a son and a daughter. Abbott went to Gilroy College in Castle Hill for his schooling.

He is an all-rounder who bats with his right hand. He started playing junior cricket for Baulkham Hills Cricket Club and later moved on to play grade cricket for Parramatta District.

In a Sheffield Shield match on November 25, 2014, Abbott bowled a bouncer that hit Phillip Hughes on the neck. Sadly, Hughes passed away two days later at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney due to a tear in an artery in his neck, which caused bleeding in his brain.

Career Journey Of Sean Abbott
Sean made his List A debut for New South Wales on October 17, 2010, against Western Australia in the Ryobi One-Day Cup, but didn’t bowl or bat in the match. A year later, he made his first-class debut against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval.
In January 2015, He was named Australia’s Young Cricketer of the Year. Later that year, he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for 10 million rupees (around 200,000 AUD) during the 2015 IPL auctions.
On 28 August 2017, the Sydney Sixers announced that Sean Abbott would stay with the team for three more seasons of the Big Bash League. He made his first-class debut for Surrey on 27 May 2021 at The Oval against Gloucestershire.
Although his time with Surrey was interrupted by injury, he re-signed with the county in 2023. In February 2022, He was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2022 Indian Premier League.

In November 2020, he was selected for Australia’s Test squad for their series against India. In August 2023, Sean Abbott was added to the Australian squad for the T20I series against South Africa.
On September 23, 2023, he scored his first-ever half-century in an international ODI, making 54 runs off 36 balls, though Australia lost to India by 99 runs. Later that month, Abbott was selected for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India.
He made his World Cup debut on November 11, 2023, playing against Bangladesh.
