Career Journey Of Shreyas Iyer
In 2014, Shreyas Iyer played for the Trent Bridge Cricket Team. He made his List A debut for Mumbai in November 2014 during the 2014–15 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored 273 runs with an average of 54.60.
Later that year, in December, he made his first-class cricket debut in the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy and ended up as the seventh-highest scorer in that tournament. During the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, Shreyas Iyer scored 725 runs with an average of 42.64, which included two centuries and two half-centuries.
In September 2018, he was appointed vice-captain of the Mumbai team for the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Later, in October 2018, he became the captain of India B’s team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy.
Shreyas Iyer played in the semi-final of the Ranji Trophy against Tamil Nadu. In the final match against Vidarbha, he scored 95 runs off 111 balls over two innings. Mumbai also won the Ranji Trophy in 2024.
International Career
In March 2017, Shreyas Iyer was added to India’s Test team as a replacement for Virat Kohli ahead of the fourth Test against Australia. Then, in October 2017, he was selected for India’s T20 International squad for a series against New Zealand.
He made his T20I debut on November 1, 2017, but didn’t get a chance to bat in that match. In November 2017, Shreyas Iyer was chosen to be part of India’s One Day International (ODI) team for a series against Sri Lanka.
