Vaishnavi Sundar started her acting career with Theatre Nisha. Over seven years, she performed in various plays such as The Pregnant King, The Red Queens of the Black Night, Siri Sampige, The Particle Collider, and Fire and the Rain.

Later on, she directed four plays, including To Write My Epitaph, The Lilac Ticket, A Beautiful Mind, and Chitrangada (a monologue).

As a voice artist, Vaishnavi Sundar has worked on various TV shows, including Nickelodeon cartoons like Ninja Hattori and Perman. She also lent her voice to a Korean movie called Tidal Wave (2009).
