Prabath Jayasuriya, full name Neketh Gedara Roshan Prabath Jayasuriya, is a Sri Lankan cricketer who represents the national team in Test matches and One-Day Internationals (ODIs). He also plays domestically for the Colts Cricket Club and Jaffna Stallions. His bowling style is slow left-arm orthodox, meaning he delivers spin bowling with his left hand.

Prabath Jayasuriya played for the Christ Church College under-13 and under-15 teams, and also for the Matale District under-15 team in the 2006 SLC Inter District Tournament. He made his List A debut on December 6, 2011, for Colombo Cricket Club in a match against Sri Lanka Army during the 2011/12 Premier Limited Over Tournament.
His first-class debut came on February 10, 2012, when he played for the Colombo Cricket Club against Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club. Prabath Jayasuriya played his first T20 match for the Colombo Cricket Club on March 26, 2012, against the Lankan Cricket Club.

In July 2018, Prabath Jayasuriya was selected for Sri Lanka’s One Day International (ODI) squad for the series against South Africa. He made his ODI debut for Sri Lanka on August 1, 2018, in a match against South Africa. Jayasuriya made his Test debut for Sri Lanka on July 8, 2022, against Australia.
In his first match, he impressed by taking 6 wickets for 118 runs. During Sri Lanka’s tour of New Zealand in March 2023, he struggled, taking only 4 wickets for 224 runs across two matches, and Sri Lanka lost the series 2-0.
However, on February 3, 2024, in a match against Afghanistan, Jayasuriya took his 7th Test five-wicket haul, with figures of 5-107 in the second innings. Sri Lanka won the match by 10 wickets, and Jayasuriya was named man of the match for taking 8 wickets overall.
Jayasuriya was honored with the ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award for his performance in July 2022.
