Cricketing Journey Of Sandeep Warrier
Domestic Career
Sandeep Warrier played his first match in first-class cricket for Kerala against Goa on November 24, 2012. In August 2018, he was one of five players suspended for three games in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy for showing disrespect to Kerala’s captain, Sachin Baby.
He was the top wicket-taker for Kerala in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 12 wickets in six matches. He also took a hat-trick in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
In August 2019, he was selected for the India Red team for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy and, in October 2019, was named in India A’s squad for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy. In 2021, he moved from Kerala to play for Tamil Nadu.
International Career
In January 2021, Sandeep was chosen as one of five net bowlers for India’s Test series against England. In June 2021, he was also picked as one of the net bowlers for India’s tour of Sri Lanka.
After a player in the Indian team tested positive for COVID-19, Warrier was added to the main squad for the last two T20 matches of the tour. He made his T20 debut for India on July 29, 2021, against Sri Lanka.
